Position Overview

We are seeking our new Head of Market Intelligence to join the SBS team!

The Head of Market Intelligence builds and leads SBS's strategic intelligence capability. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role: you are the person who tells leadership what is happening in the market before others see it, and what it means for SBS's strategy, positioning, and GTM decisions.

You will start with one analyst and build the function — establishing methodologies, data sources, and intelligence rhythms that feed the Marketing, ExCom, Product, and Sales teams with actionable insight.

• Competitive intelligence: continuous monitoring of key competitors
• Market sensing: identification of greenfield opportunities, new entrants, and structural shifts in banking software
• Strategic intelligence briefings — regular cadence and ad hoc on critical topics
• Intelligence data integration into GTM: feeding insights to Product Marketing, Campaign Management, and Sales Enablement
• Building the Market Intelligence function: hiring, tooling, methodology, and internal visibility

Location: Paris, France

Hybrid: 60% Remote & 40% Onsite per Month

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the global Market Intelligence strategy to provide actionable insights that support business growth, product strategy, and go-to-market execution.

  • Establish and manage a comprehensive competitive intelligence program that continuously monitors competitors' products, pricing, positioning, partnerships, acquisitions, and go-to-market activities.

  • Drive market sensing initiatives to identify emerging industry trends, greenfield market opportunities, disruptive technologies, new market entrants, and structural shifts across the banking and financial software landscape.

  • Produce and deliver strategic intelligence briefings for executive leadership, product, marketing, and sales teams through recurring reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses on high-priority topics.

  • Translate market and competitive insights into actionable recommendations that inform corporate strategy, product roadmaps, market positioning, and investment decisions.

  • Integrate intelligence into go-to-market planning by partnering closely with Product Marketing, Campaign Management, Sales Enablement, Product Management, and regional marketing teams.

  • Develop market sizing, segmentation, and opportunity analyses to support strategic planning, geographic expansion, and portfolio prioritization.

  • Establish and maintain intelligence methodologies, frameworks, governance, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality analysis across the organization.

  • Build, lead, and scale the global Market Intelligence function, including team development, capability building, vendor management, and implementation of intelligence platforms and research tools.

  • Create executive dashboards and KPI reporting to measure market dynamics, competitive movements, and the business impact of intelligence initiatives.

  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Product, Strategy, Corporate Development, and Executive Leadership to ensure intelligence is embedded in key business decisions.

  • Increase organizational awareness and adoption of Market Intelligence by promoting internal visibility, knowledge sharing, and education across global teams.

  • Evaluate and manage external research providers, analyst firms, and market data sources to maximize the quality of insights and return on investment.

  • Monitor regulatory, economic, and technological trends affecting the global banking and financial services industry and assess their impact on SBS's strategic direction.

  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on competitive positioning, market dynamics, and customer trends, providing thought leadership to senior executives and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years in market intelligence
  • Deep familiarity with the banking software or financial services technology ecosystem
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills — you turn data into narrative
  • Executive-level communication skills — you present to boards and C-suites with confidence
  • Familiarity with AI and data platforms in the banking context
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and curious about how AI is reshaping marketing practice
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus
  • Based in Paris or London

Preferred:

  • Experience in a SaaS or platform business
  • Experience engaging with industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, …)
  • Background in strategy consulting with a move into tech or fintech
